Estimated reading period: 3 minute

Ornamental snails usually refer to snails that have a certain ornamental value, with the function of removing algae, activating the tank bottom bed, and having a beautiful or strange appearance, which is usually kept in a planted tank.

Ornamental snails are divided into two types: steam snails and freshwater snails according to the areas they live in. The steam water snails refer to the snails living in the intersection of freshwater and seawater. The steam water snail is characterized by its relatively high survival rate in the freshwater water. It can even spawn, but the eggs it produces cannot be hatched. That is to say, the steam water snails in the freshwater area are usually difficult to reproduce, and even do not have the possibility of breeding. The main varieties of steam-water snails are onion snail, watermelon snail, abalone snail, zebra snail and so on. Freshwater snails refer to snails that live in the freshwater. These snails do not have shortcomings like steam water snails. They can survive and reproduce in planted freshwater tanks. The main varieties of freshwater snails include golden snails, moon snails, xenophora and so on.

Common ornamental snails include apple snail, mysterious snail, zebra snail, golden snail, moon snail, abalone snail, onion snail, orange rabbit snail, bee snail and so on. Apple snail mostly lives in Africa, America. Apple snail can tolerate low oxygen water environment. When the dry season is coming, it will involve themselves in the fish tank bottom soil and close its shell to sleep. The color of the wild apple snail's inner meat is mostly dark gray. If its meat color becomes red, it may be due to the lack of skin pigmentation. The apple snail shell is light yellow, but because some apple snail blood is blue, the apple snail can appear in different colors.

The scientific name of the mysterious snail is Pomacea bridgesii, which is a freshwater ornamental snail. When the mysterious snail is small, the angle between the first three shells formed by it is generally bigger than 90°. When the four or five layers are reached, the angle between the shells will become 90°, and then when it grows up, the angle between the shell will be smaller than 90°. The thread of the circle on the mysterious snail shell spreads evenly from the inside to the outside, it is so mysterious and very fascinating. For keeping snails better, we need to control the tank water temperature. Why not try this
Solar Digital Thermometer. It has a solar power supply, accurate temperature measurement. Easy to use, just tear off the adhesive tape at the back then stick it.
